The JEC ASIA 2009 exhibition and conference in Singapore this October demonstrated the tremendous growth of composites in Asia. Created in 2008, the second session of JEC ASIA was considered a roaring success with high participation for all its programmes.
A third hall was added this year and over 340 companies from 55 countries participated, a 15% increase on the 2008 event. Some 7,002 visitors from 55 countries attended this professionals-only event; with 86% coming from the Asia Pacific There were seven national pavilions with two new ones from Malaysia and Australia. Other national pavilions were from: China, Taiwan, France, Japan and India. 650 delegates took part in the programme of six conferences and forums including the new wind energy forum. Ten JEC Asia Awards were presented this year including for the first time, a Life Achievement Award honouring Yong-Jun Cho, President of Hankuk Fiber Glass, for his devotion to the composites industry. JEC ASIA 2010 will be held from 12-14 October 2010 at Suntec Exhibition Centre, Singapore. The main theme will be "Urban Solutions" and India will be the country of honour. |
